If you’re looking for a product that reduces wrinkles, one item you might investigate is Hydroderm. Hydroderm offers several anti-aging skin care products, but the one we’re going to focus on is Hydroderm Fast Acting Wrinkle Reducer. Like other products of this type, Hydroderm claims it reduces wrinkles and fine lines and rejuvenates tired, dry skin. Does it live up to the company’s claims?
How Hydroderm Works and Its Ingredients
Hydroderm is developed and sold by a company in Culver City, California. It claims to have hundreds of thousands of satisfied users. The company says its secret to success is its patented whole collagen infusion system. This system is in the Fast Acting Wrinkle Reducer and in other Hydroderm products such as cleansers, moisturizers, and an eye serum.
The official website goes on to explain that collagen “is a protein with a high molecular weight that cannot pass through into skin. Hydroderm is the only product clinically proven to carry collagen directly to the skin, without painful injections.” Unfortunately, the website fails to provide clinical proof to back up that statement.
Here is the entire list of ingredients found in Hydroderm Fact Acting Wrinkle Reducer:
Collagen (marine), distilled water, igepal cephene, methyl paraben, ethyl paraben, propyl paraben, butyl paraben, isobutyl paraben, synasol, serum protein, purified water, amniotic fluid, placental protein, calfskin extract, hydrolyzed collagen, sodium methylparaben, imidazolidinyl urea, ethoxylated glycerides, trisodium EDTA, potassium sorbate, citric acid, ascorbic acid.
You may notice that paraben preservatives are mentioned. Unfortunately, paraben preservatives have been linked to contact dermatitis in some cases, but the website assures us that Hydroderm products are safe for use on any type skin, including that of teens.
Where to Buy Hydroderm
Hydroderm is available at the official website. Their Fast Acting Wrinkle Reducer is selling for $69.95 which is $10 off its usual price. There is also a monthly autoship program that is $5 less per month than a single order, however, there are numerous complaints online that say it is almost impossible to get out of the autoship program once you start it, and that customer service is lacking.
Other websites sell Hydroderm as well. The price for the Fast Acting Wrinkle Reducer was $34.95 at Amazon and $49.99 at other websites.
- US manufacturer
- Several positive off site reviews
- Claims to be safe for men, women, and teens
- Contains parabens
- No evidence at website to support claims
- Numerous complaints about autoship program and customer service
- Claims to be fast acting, but website says it could take up to three weeks to see best results
- No free samples
Hydroderm makes pretty promises but fails to provide any data to back up those claims. Although there are numerous positive reviews on line, there are also multiple negative reviews and the contact us page at the official website is not friendly at all. In fact, it says if you inadvertently call their order line for any reason other than to order, there will be a $10 charge on your phone bill. Those factors are enough to convince us that Hydroderm is not the best choice for consumers.
